In 1987, the first mobile phone entered the Chinese market, the model was Motorola 3200. The price is extremely expensive, and it may cost tens of thousands of yuan. The first generation of mobile communication only transmits analog signals between mobile phones and base stations, and can only be used for making calls, but its security and anti-interference capabilities are relatively poor, and it cannot roam internationally. The first generation of mobile communication has not yet reached the point of popularization because of its high price and only a small number of people can afford it.

2.The second generation of mobile communication (2G)

In the 1G era, Motorola was the only company in the field of mobile communications, and then the 2G era came and ended this situation. The 2G system is the GSM system in Europe and the CDMA system in North America. Compared with 1G, it is safer and its functions are not limited to calls. 2G was officially commercialized in 1991, and it was 1995 when it was really popularized in all countries in the world.

Brands such as Ericsson and Nokia also took advantage of the trend to rise, which is the era of rapid development of mobile phones. Among them, the Nokia mobile phone is more deeply rooted in the hearts of the people. Its built-in snake game is a childhood memory of many people. This stage lasted for a long time, and mobile communication gradually became popular.

3.The third generation mobile communication (3G)

3G has been produced in 2002, but it has not been officially used until 2009, when the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China issued a 3G license, China has officially entered the era of 3G. The 3G standards used in China are: WCDMA, CDMA2000, TD- SCDMA. Compared with 2G, 3G communication technology has been greatly improved. It can provide more advanced service functions and has higher network capacity, faster transmission, and wireless broadband access.

In 2008, Apple's iPhone 3G came out, it has opened a new era of smartphones, and the contribution made by Apple's mobile phones can be described as unprecedentedly huge. In the same year, the first Android mobile phone HIC G1 was also released, and the two giant camps of cell phone, Apple and Android, emerged. However, Nokia, which is unwilling to change, and Motorola, which has long been behind, have been defeated by the times, and smart phones have begun to spread widely among everyone at a rapid speed.

4.Fourth generation mobile communication (4G)

4G technology began to be put into large-scale construction in 2010. 4G has faster transmission speed and can realize "any time, any place" to data. Everyone can use video chatting better and more stably. In 2013, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China officially issued 4G licenses to the three major telecommunication companies, which means that China has entered the 4G era.

At the beginning of 2014, the three major telecom companies successively launched 4G services to the public, and the "4G" era came quickly. The 4G era is the era of rapid development of smart phones. Various Chinese smart phone brands such as Xiaomi and Huawei continue to develop rapidly, enhancing the user experience. At the same time, the rapid development of various application software has also changed our lifestyle. It can be said that by the year 2013, smart phones have basically become popular among the public.

5.Fifth generation mobile communication (5G)

In October 2019, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China announced the official launch of 5G commercial use. At the same time, the three major operators also announced 5G commercial fees, which are much more expensive than 4G. The speed of the 5G network is more than ten times that of the 4G network, and it also has the characteristics of low latency and high capacity. If it is successfully popularized, it can realize the scene of the Internet of Everything.
